Diablo 4 demo11/10/2023 ![]() Then there’s this whole “open beta” business. Even worse, Warcraft III: Reforged and Overwatch 2 were used as excuses to shut down their predecessors, leaving fans no choice but to either bear with the new version or just quit. Put a bit more accurately, it released one of the worst remasters to ever stain the PC space, a blatant cash-grab seemingly intended solely to take advantage of smartphone players and a glorified update that isn’t really worthy of having a “2” in the title. Since then though, it’s turned out “bangers” such as Warcraft III: Reforged, Diablo Immortal and Overwatch 2. Heck, even Overwatch had elements in it seemingly meant to take advantage of enthusiastic players (i.e. There’s nothing terribly wrong with that mentality…so long as the company in question is committed to making good games.Įver since the launch of Overwatch in 2016, the publisher hasn’t exactly done much for its fans. Fair enough, most of us are busy with our own lives and are just here to enjoy good games and get away from the daily grind for a while. That said, perhaps the working conditions at Activision-Blizzard aren’t terribly important to most gamers. This is all following the news that the company enjoyed another record-setting quarter. While it’s easy to understand why gamers may be losing goodwill from the publisher, most recently it’s been the employees getting the short end of the stick, with the latest sleights being a massive reduction in profit-sharing, an almost blanket ending of remote work, the return of “stack ranking,” and diminishing the work of its QA and customer service departments. Don’t let Blizzard of all entities define what fandom is, and don’t rush to pre-order Diablo 4 just to try it a week earlier. Everyone will who wants to will be able to participate in the second “beta” period, but only those “true fans” who pre-order Diablo 4 beforehand will have the “privilege” of playing in the first period. The first will be from March 17 to March 19, and the second will be from March 24 to March 26. Since The Butcher can show up anywhere in any dungeon, you will need it.Blizzard recently announced that Diablo 4 is going to have two “open betas” next month. Blizzard might tweak The Butcher’s drops and the Butcher’s Cleaver’s stats for the Open Beta, but you should still expect to receive some impressive loot for killing him.īest of luck during the Open Beta and the official launch of Diablo 4. The Butcher’s loot table also included the Unique Butchers Cleaver: a powerful axe that Fears and Slows enemies by 70% for four seconds every time players deal a Lucky Hit. ![]() Blizzard probably will fix this exploit for the Open Beta, but it never hurts to give it a shot if you’re running out of better options.ĭuring the Early Access beta, anyone who defeated The Butcher was rewarded with a ton of gold and experience points, in addition to no more than two Legendary items. Apparently, The Butcher has trouble with doorways and glitches out whenever he tries to chase players through one. ![]() If you really want to defeat (or survive against) The Butcher, though, you could take advantage of an exploit that Early Access players used to cheese the demonic super boss. Unfortunately, those dungeon divers couldn’t make the fight easier by grinding levels since Diablo 4 utilizes level scaling.j To even the odds and split up The Butcher’s attention, players have even tried to gang up on him as a group. Most importantly, players recommend saving your movement and defensive skills for The Butcher’s charge ability since it’s an almost guaranteed one-hit kill. Players had to stay on the move and attack The Butcher from the side or from behind. To defeat The Butcher, most gamers and outlets recommended fighting him at a distance (or with DPS-heavy builds for Barbarians since that class isn’t good at long ranges). Attacking The Butcher head-on was a death sentence, and, to make matters worse, if players died or took too long killing him, The Butcher left, and gamers had to go through the hassle of waiting for him to spawn again. ![]() And if that wasn’t bad enough, he could even bullrush players with a charge attack, reel hapless gamers in with his chain hook, and stun them before going in for the kill. He had a ton of health and chewed through player health pools with his oversized cleaver. According to everyone who has been ambushed by The Butcher during the Early Access beta, this random boss is one tough slab of meat. ![]()
